Amazon has announced the latest data from the Impact Report of over 20,000 Italian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) that sell on its online store. Of these, more than 65% have sold beyond national borders, recording over 1.2 billion euros in overseas sales. Out of the total number of SMEs present on Amazon, more than 9,000 (over 45%) are from rural or low-density population areas. In 2024 alone, 6,000 of these recorded 500 million euros in overseas sales. Lombardy, Campania, Lazio, Tuscany, and Emilia-Romagna are the top five regions for the highest value of overseas sales and the largest number of local SMEs present in the online store; Germany, France, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Spain are the countries where Italian SMEs have sold most successfully.
