10Short Read
A study by Cynet reveals that over 300 Italian companies are at risk due to the spread on the Dark Web of VPN credentials and firewall certificates stolen from Fortinet devices. The attack, claimed by the Belsen group, has affected over 15,000 firewalls worldwide by exploiting vulnerability CVE-2022-40684. Italy is among the most exposed countries, with 333 companies involved. Cynet warns: 54% of the targeted firewalls are still online. "A paradigm shift is needed: it's no longer enough to protect, we must anticipate the risk," comments Marco Lucchina, Country Manager of Cynet. The company advocates an Assume Breach approach and the use of predictive AI to prevent future attacks.
