Amazon opens the doors to its first Disaster Relief Hub in Europe. The company will stock over 1,000 pallets of emergency supplies, enough to fill a Boeing 737 twenty times, and will use its global logistics network to send essential supplies to non-profit organizations and partners in communities impacted by natural disasters. The Disaster Relief Hub is a dedicated space within the company’s global logistics network, where essential items can be stored and quickly packaged following extraordinary weather events, earthquakes, fires, and other emergencies. It is located at Amazon's distribution center in Rheinberg, Germany, an area that provides easy access to major international airports and transportation networks.
